Ocean World Travel are looking for a Travel Consultant Apprentice to plan dream holidays, book packages, and arrange cruises. Enjoy ship visits and first-hand cruise experiences in a fast-paced, rewarding role for a bright individual passional about travelling and customer service.

Working Week

Mon – Fri: Between 09:00-19:00. Weekend work included. (37.5 hours a week)

About The Employer

Ocean World Travel are a family-run cruise specialist established in 1995 in Birmingham and moved to Hampshire in 2000. They predominantly sell cruises from the UK with Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, PO Cruises and Cunard Line as well as other cruise lines. Ocean World Travel are SBTA bonded and can sell all types of holidays and package holidays.  They also create tailor-made and luxury holidays. Ocean World Travel are a highly regarded cruise specialist with the cruise lines, they have seven staff members and are looking to increase staff numbers since the business has grown post-pandemic. 

Apprenticeship Overview

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. 

What you’ll do at work: 

  • Cooperate with clients to determine their needs and advise them on appropriate destinations, travel dates, costs and accommodation. 
  • Provide relevant information and brochures to customers. 
  • Offering exceptional customer service, expert advice and personal recommendations. 
  • Working to and achieving sales targets.
  • General administration duties. 
  • Handling both incoming and outgoing telephone calls, face-to-face, and web enquiries. 
  • Selling holidays across a range of suppliers. 
  • Deal with current travel problems. 
  • Take payments.
