Challenge

As new responsibilities and roles emerged across the business, Graysons Properties identified key areas where leadership development could make a real impact. These included people skills, time management, interdepartmental communication, motivation, and a clearer understanding of policies and procedures. With several managers new to leadership roles, there was an opportunity to provide structured support and guidance to help them feel confident and capable in their day-to-day work.

Solution

To meet this need, Graysons Properties partnered with Zenith Training, to deliver the Leadership and People Management Skills Bootcamp. The programme ran across two cohorts, starting in January and concluding in April, and was tailored to reflect the priorities identified during initial planning discussions with the team.

Each session focused on practical leadership challenges and created space for reflection, discussion, and sharing across departments. The bootcamp was designed to give learners the tools to approach their roles with greater confidence, whether they were new to management or looking to build on existing skills.

Outcome

The boot camp prompted valuable conversations, challenged perspectives, and helped learners consider their role from a broader organisational viewpoint. Participants gained insights not only from the course content but also from each other, sharing knowledge and exploring how different departments could work more effectively together.

Learner feedback highlighted a genuine appreciation for the chance to reflect, connect, and apply new thinking to everyday challenges:

Helen: “Elements of it were very interesting and made me think of things from a different angle. I do feel the course could have been condensed into fewer sessions, but that may be because we were a smaller group.”

James: “It was insightful, and I appreciated the opportunity to learn. It was good to see scenarios and problems from different perspectives, not just my own. I’ve definitely put some of the tools into action daily. Some parts could feel like tick-box exercises, but it was really useful to talk with Theresa and others to see how we can improve the business across departments.”

Sarah: “I found the course very useful and informative. I started in HR in November with little experience, and this course has brought a lot of procedures to light that I now need to implement. It’s also given me a range of management skills and techniques I can use in my role and across the workplace.”

Through open discussion and a focus on practical tools, the bootcamp helped build greater confidence across Graysons Properties’ management team. Whether new to leadership or looking to refine their skills, participants walked away with a clearer understanding of their role and a stronger connection to their colleagues across the business.

With two cohorts now complete, Graysons Properties is continuing to invest in leadership development, laying the foundations for a more connected, capable, and forward-thinking team.
