The Warehouse Operative is responsible for all aspects of the warehouse, including Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Output Performance in their specific and immediate work area. The Warehouse Operative is to carry out a variety of jobs such as arranging goods in/out, storing and stacking products, Order preparation and order fulfilment.

Apprenticeship Overview

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated according to the SOP’s.
  • Ensure all work supports a food safety excellence culture through adherence to food safety standards.
  • Ensure there is an accurate record of stock within the warehouse.
  • Ensure all items moved, shipped or received are logged in the correct manner.
  • Ensuring storage areas and the warehouse are kept tidy and identifying areas where processes could be improved.
  • Ensure adherence to good hygienic practices in the warehouse, liaising with the Supervisor and the Hygiene Team.
  • Report all machine faults to the supervisor and the maintenance team.
  • Identify and report all unsafe operations to the supervisor and safety reps immediately.
