The Warehouse Operative is responsible for all aspects of the warehouse including Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Output Performance in their specific and immediate work area. The purpose of the Warehouse Operative is to carry out a variety of jobs such as, arranging goods in/out, storing and stacking products.

Apprenticeship Overview

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. What you’ll do at work:

  • Responsible for the warehouse process in specific area Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated according to the SOP’s
  • Ensure all work supports a food safety excellence culture through adherence to food safety standards
  • Ensuring Key Performance Indicators production targets are met Ensure there is an accurate record of stock within the warehouse
  • Ensure all items moved, shipped or received are logged in the correct manner
  • Ensuring storage areas and the warehouse are kept tidy and identify areas where processes could be improved
  • Ensure goods don’t get damaged
  • Ensure the bulk assemble pick sheets are dispatched with maximum efficiency
  • Adherence to food safety rules/processes Load/unload goods from the truck
  • Check all loads for damaged or missing items upon receipt
  • Ensure all items which come in and goes out of the warehouse are recorded correctly
  • Ensure adherence to good hygienic practices in the warehouse liaising with Supervisor and Hygiene Team
  • Actively promote clean as you go at all times
  • Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with Dalziel Ingredients guiding and operating principles
  • Ensuring that communication between staff members/department is ongoing
  • Report all machine faults to supervisor and the maintenance team
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety Identify and report all unsafe operations to supervisor and safety reps immediately
  • Supporting the activities of production personnel to ensure effective performance of job duties
  • Ensure Team comply with set health and safety policies when carrying out job duties
