From Learning To Opportunity: An Apprentice’s Path Forward

George Bailey, a Sales apprentice at Van Leeuwen, recently received positive feedback following their mid-year review. Read George’s feedback in full review below!

“To date the apprenticeship has been rewarding beyond my expectations. With the way I work with great people and sell to great people. I can’t fault a single one of my colleagues or the customers. I suppose I was lucky with my colleagues, but the customers and the entire steel industry as a whole are so vast.

For example, you could be supplying to a customer who makes stairlifts for the elderly or tubes that go into JCB construction machines. My learning progresses each day as there are so many different grades, sizes and products to learn about. With Zenith I have been taught sales tactics and how to implement them, and general work and life advice. I implement this into my work to be as well-rounded as possible. I had my mid-year review today and opened up to my manager about my ambitions and asked what the company can offer.

My manager said the company would look into my ambition for a degree as it would benefit me and the company. Hopefully from my tone in this review, you can tell I am enthusiastic and hopeful for the future and the opportunities I have in front of me because of Van Leeuwen and Zenith.” – George Bailey, Level 4 Sales Executive
