WHAT DOES THIS QUALIFICATION COVER?

Due to the vast array of FLT trucks in operation across the industry it can sometimes be much more beneficial and cost effective to convert an FLT licence. Choosing this option will allow operators to train on new and different aspects of a different truck but not having to go over all the basic training again.

Unit 1: Emergency First aid in the workplace

  • The role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Able to assess an incident
  • Able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
  • Able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding

Unit 2: Recognition and Management of ilness and injury in the workplace

  • Able to conduct a secondary survey  
  • Able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected injuries to bones, muscles, and joints  
  • Able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
  • How to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries  
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds  
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with an eye injury 
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with a sudden poisoning
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
