WHAT DOES THIS Workshop COVER?

Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training is divided into 3 convenient 2.5 hour sessions.

Delegates will focus on understanding the importance of ED&I, inclusive practice and how it promotes E&D, the effects of discrimination, how legislation affects ED&I at work, policies/procedures/ guidance for E&D in the workplace and their importance for employees, exploring the benefits of a diverse working environment, how to be able to promote and monitor ED&I, how to follow procedures pertaining to ED&I and the importance thereof.

What you will learn

Session 1: Understand the importance of diversity, equality and inclusion

  • What is meant by diversity, equality and inclusion
  • The potential effects of discrimination and what is meant by inclusion
  • How inclusive practice promotes equality and supports diversity
  • Define what is meant by ‘equality’
  • Describe what is meant by ‘diversity’
  • Define what is meant by inclusion

Session 2: How legislation affects equality, diversity and inclusion at work

  • Explain how legislation and codes of practice relating to equality, diversity and discrimination apply to own work role
  • Consider what equality and diversity means to organisations in relation to recruitment, pay, working conditions and promotion opportunities
  • Evaluate the benefits to an organisation of having a diverse workforce, how organisations can promote and maintain equality and diversity in the workplace, as well as the difficulties that can arise in trying to establish and maintain a diverse workplace
  • Discover the policies, codes of conduct and guidance that encourage and protect equality and diversity within the workplace, and exploring the actions that an organisation can take if an adult employee breaches their equality and diversity policies, codes of conduct or guidelines, as well as the consequences for an organisation of not trying to create or maintain and equal environment, looking at legal consequences,
    economic/business consequences and social/moral consequences and also the rights that individuals have under current legislation.

Session 3: Be able to promote and monitor diversity, equality and inclusion

  • Describe how equality and diversity can be promoted and maintained by employees
  • Describe three examples of how equality and diversity can be monitored in the workplace
  • Describe the responsibilities for equality and diversity in the workplace
  • Describe the difference between positive action and positive discrimination
  • Explain the importance of making sure that equality and diversity
    procedures are followed in the workplace
  • Connecting with the Customer
  • Applying Digital platforms to your business and creating a digital marketing and sales plan
